Dolphins Dance
Published by black dog books
For 10 - 14 year old readers

Max is Ali's autistic brother. He's coming to Ali's school this year, and Ali's life is about to change. All Ali wants is to be a typical kid, but that's not easy with Max around. Ali can't even go to the beach and swim with the dolphins, because going anywhere new with Max, is almost impossible. So Ali's feelings for her brother are mixed. She loves him fiercely and feels sorry for him, wants to protect him. But she also hates him for getting all the attention, for making everyday things, like going to school, difficult.
Dolphins Dance is Ali's story, as she learns to understand Max. It is also a story of how autism utterly and completely changes a family's life.
